The intense summer heat can leave you longing for the autumn rains! Summer is one of the best times to get those home painting projects done, but, that doesn’t mean we have to keep thinking about the heat. Fall colors are almost always connected with the changing of leaves. As the summer heat fades away, the world’s colors warm up. The colors of Fall are passionate and warm, Browns, Reds, Greens, and Oranges. We can see soft browns, brilliant reds, calming oranges, and fading greens. In our homes, these can give a comforting and welcoming sense to a room.
To paint with the colors of Autumn, we tend towards soft warm browns, such as Benjamin Moore's Just Beige (2095-50) and light oranges like Melon Ice (106). These sorts of soft colors can help a living room feel inviting and welcoming. For a more intense dash of Autumn, we look to the colors of the falling leaves, such as Deep Rose (2004-10) or Fields of Gold (203). Adding bold reds and yellows will catch people’s attention and are often a way to make a welcoming statement for a home. A fierce Deep Rose door or Fields of Gold accent wall in your entryway will leave a lasting impression on your guests.
It might be an intense summer outside, but, we can get a head start on the changing leaves. We’ve still got time to get outside and get painting! Once the summer starts to cool off, we’ll have perfect walking weather and a view to match. If you’re looking for some more ideas on seasonal painting, check out your local Mallory Paint Store.
